Entry for May 26, 2008

One of the great things about being an author with Dorchester is that I have discovered wonderful new books to read.  I just finished Joy Nash's DEEP MAGIC, which is a Celtic shape-shifting romance based on her own version of historical myth and lore. It's a wonderful book, with one of the most blistering love scenes I have yet to read. So picture that movie GHOST, where Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore were sculpting clay, and kick it up several degrees in front of a forge with literal and figurative fire...  If you love fantasy and blistering romance, be sure to read this book.

Next up is Emily Brian's DISTRACTING THE DUCHESS, which is a Victorian Historical, and as you can tell by my own books, it's one of my favorite time periods.

While I'm on the subject of reading, I have to add that I was given the honor of previewing Erin Grady's novel BENEATH THE RUINS. It was just picked up by Berkley Publishing, so I'm not sure if the book will be published under that name, but I'll keep you posted on the status, because it's a story you don't want to miss. A paranormal romance with Irish legend and lore, it took my breath away it's layered plot, brilliantly lyrical writing, and stunning ending.

And now I'm off to my current WIP, ENCHANTING THE BEAST, where my heroine has finally succumbed to the temptation of a younger man...and is determined to tame his wild were-nature. ;}

Happy Reading!
