Entry for April 10, 2008

This weekend I attended the Desert Dreams conference in Chandler, Arizona. The weather was beautiful, the workshops were fabulous, and the entire conference ran as seamlessly as if we had two fairy princesses running it...oh, that's right, we did.:}

I had an opportunity to meet my editor, Leah Hultenschmidt, who is even more fantastic in person than she is over the phone (err, and email). There's nothing like having lunch with your editor to really convince yourself that you're *really and truly* a professional writer. Talking about writing always makes me excited, and talking to Leah, who is funny and supportive and smart-smart-smart, made it even more so. (I think I was twitching most of the time LOL.)

The photo above was taken by Angel (in the middle) during the booksigning. I'm in the sunglasses, and that's Brenda Joyce on the other side (who I had a fabulous time talking to at the signing--she's so beautiful!)

I met many other new writers, and had a hoot with many writers who were already friends. I would highly recommend attending the Desert Dreams conference to any aspiring writer. The next conference is in 2010. You can find out more information on the Desert Rose Website: http://www.desertroserwa.org/index.htm

Oh, and a few other things to share. ENCHANTING THE LADY received a great review from THE GOOD, THE BAD, AND THE UNREAD: http://goodbadandunread.com/2008/04/04/review-enchanting-the-lady-relics-of-merlin-book-1-by-kathryne-kennedy/

Better.tv featured CL Wilson's cover for Dorchester and how they went about making it (She writes fabulous fantasy romances, BTW). If you watch really closely to the video the first few seconds, you can catch a *brief* glance at my cover for ENCHANTING THE LADY:
