Fun for my readers...

I just opened a store which features merchandise with your favorite characters and scenes from the Relics of Merlin series. There's t-shirts & bags & more! I opened it because I thought it would be fun for my readers (I make nothing from the sales). I'll have it up on my website soon, but in the meantime you can check it out here: http://www.cafepress.com/KathryneKennedy

My group blog has a terrific line-up of author interviews for the month of November:

11-7 Cheyenne McCray-DARK MAGIC

11-14 Cindy Green-MEETING MR. RIGHT ONLINE

11-21 Jordan Summers-RED

I'm sure the interviews will be fascinating, and the authors will be giving away free books, so be sure to check it out here: http://www.muchcheaperthantherapy.blogspot.com/

And I'll leave you with a simply enchanting review from Merrimon Book Reviews for DOUBLE ENCHANTMENT:

The second book in The Relics of Merlin series, Kathryne Kennedy's DOUBLE ENCHANTMENT combines humor and emotion in an extraordinary tale of paranormal magic and adventure in a heartwarming fairy tale romance set in the Victorian era in a society governed by class codes built on magical standing as well as economic resources. As the scandals and danger mount, Kathryne Kennedy peers into the heart of her characters as they struggle to conduct themselves with honor while remaining true to themselves. The magical romance between Jasmina and Sterling steals the heart, page by page with each moment and revelation until the final delightful page. DOUBLE ENCHANTMENT speaks to both the little girl and the woman within ---- and brightens the mood with smile after smile! Each and every detail is exquisite. With each page, each revelation enchants the reader more and more until one realizes one is totally submerged into the world of her characters. Just when I thought I had reached the height of delight possible, Kathryne Kennedy introduces two new characters. How I adored the gnomes!!!!

Kathryne Kennedy is quite simply one of the hottest new sensations in the romance genre and DOUBLE ENCHANTMENT is on my top ten list of books read this year. Her particular blend of all that is best in romance will delight a wide range of romance readers with its cross appeal across the breadth of romance subgenres from paranormal to historical romance. From magical details, to fairy tale-like psychological richness, from tender hearts that enchant readers to humorous mischief and suspenseful fantasy adventure in a historical, magical setting, Kathryne Kennedy creates a unique exquisite flavor that makes her romance a pure delight page after page, book after book. Light-hearted, sweet and tender, DOUBLE ENCHANTMENT has just the right measure of suspenseful plot details and emotional richness to make this romance unforgettable.

This weekend I got to step into one of my books. My husband is wearing real armor, as he has been in the SCA (Society for Creative Anachronism...where they stage mock tournaments and battles) for years. He clanked a bit, and scared our hostess' poor dog.

For this little fairy, there's just something about a man in armor...

Entry for October 13, 2008

Today I sent off Enchanting the Beast to my editor. Such a great feeling of accomplishment! But I don't wallow in it for long...I'm working on a proposal for another book in the series, Everlasting Enchantment. As soon as I get it pinned down enough to write a blurb about it, I'll share. I don't think most people realize that by the time an author's book is out, and they're receiving reviews and promoting it, they've already finished the next one, and are working on the next one after that. And for me, the book I've just finished is always my favorite. Until I start working on the next one, since I have to be super excited to write it, as the journey takes months and thousands of words.

No wonder I'm always a little bit confused...and dreamy-eyed from magic and romance.:}

Okay, have a few more reviews to share, and they are just lovely:

http://freshfiction.com/review.php?id=21912

The author does a good job of blending true Victorian conventions into a world that could exist only through pure imagination. The characters are complex and their relationships are intriguing. This is the second book in the Relics of Merlin series, starting with Enchanting the Lady and will followed in 2009 by Enchanting the Beast. You don't need to read the first book to enjoy the second one, but if you find you enjoy this story you'll want to pick up a copy of Enchanting the Lady too. Reviewed by Stacey Hayman
Posted October 6, 2008

http://www.romrevtoday.com/Issue%2010-1-08/double%20enchantment%20-%2010-1-08.htm

The second book in the Relics Of Merlin series, DOUBLE ENCHANTMENT stands well on its own so those who haven't yet read ENCHANTING THE LADY (January 2008) can still enjoy it. Magical, bewitching, enthralling, yes, they are words that should only be used to describe a truly great book and they certainly apply to DOUBLE ENCHANTMENT. Get your copy today. But do hurry, you never know when the gnomes may steal them away on a mischief-making mission. :-) Lori Ann
Romance Reviews Today

http://community.eharlequin.com/review/double-enchantment-kathryne-kennedy-love-spell-0908-bk2-relics-merlin

This book is... PURE MAGIC! Take a Regency England setting, add a bit of magic, throw in a bit of Black Beauty fairy tale and you have a romance you won't be able to put down. Jasmina's simple illusion spell went disastrously wrong, with a very promiscuous double, running about London...then the lowly baronet who acts as if he knows her, intimately.

What's a lady to do but join forces with Sir Sterling Thorn, find the relic that caused all the chaos, get rid of her Jezebel twin, and finally get her well ordered life back together. It's not as easy as it sounds with a gnome or two who love to make mischief. Double Enchantment was a delightful read with several romances within the story. This will definately be one of my top picks for this year. I'll be impatiently waiting on the next one now. Very highly and easily recommended.
Guam--A popular little island

In my bio I mention that I lived in Guam, and apparently many people in the service have been stationed there. A reader asked if I had any pictures to share so I dug up an old one of me and my little sister and have posted it here. I remember palm trees and beaches and crabs in shells and geckos and guamanians eating hot peppers that brought tears to my eyes. We had hurricanes that flooded our yards and brought out the leeches. I once tried to outrun a small rain cloud that seemed to be following me as I rode my bike. The cloud won the race and I got soaked.:}

The pretty little girl is my sister, and me...well, my mom always referred to me as her 'Huckleberry Finn', with all my reddish-blonde hair and freckles. Sigh. We got our dog in Okinawa, and named her 'Skoshi', which means 'little bit'. She passed on several years ago, but she'll always be in my heart as the best dog in the world.

Much thanks to Rachel, the reader who asked me about pictures of Guam, and brought back some wonderful memories.

I will be attending the RT conference in Orlando, Florida...my very first time! I'll be going as a sponsor of the faery ball, and I'm excited about meeting readers and putting together a costume of a Victorian Faery (which would fit my books perfectly :}). The Faery Court has a website and you can visit it here: http://www.thefaerycourt.com/faerycourtindex.html

And I'd like to share some more reviews for DOUBLE ENCHANTMENT. I appreciate how hard reviewers work to write concise, compelling reviews and I treasure each one:

"A fabulous romantic Victorian fantasy"~Harriet Klausner http://genregoroundreviews.blogspot.com/2008/08/double-enchantment-kathryne-k...

"Romance readers who like fantasy should take notice."~Devon http://goodbadandunread.com/2008/08/28/review-double-enchantment-by-kathryne-...

"This is what reading is all about."~Sandy M. http://goodbadandunread.com/2008/08/20/review-double-enchantment-relics-of-me...

"...filled with imagination, humor, a captivating plot, suspense, endearing characters..."~Dottie http://romancejunkiesreviews.com/artman/publish/paranormal/Double_Enchantment...

"...a story that captivates you from the beginning."~Krista http://www.coffeetimeromance.com/BookReviews/Doubleenchantment.html

"The story is interesting, hot, and well developed."~Sarah Silversmith http://www.theromancereadersconnection.com/reviews2/kennedykathryne1908.html

And last, but certainly not least, I received this notice from Fresh Fiction, whose review I already posted in an earlier entry:

DOUBLE ENCHANTMENT was chosen to be a Fresh Pick at Fresh
Fiction.
